Matt Gillett Shield

The energy was high with our Year 3 team entering their first gala day representing St Peter's. Our Year 3 team won 4 from 4 games against some strong competition from St Michael's and Bellmere State School.

Congratulations to: Cooper Nilsson (Most Valuable Player), Tou'a Lolohea (Sportsmanship Award) and Ari Jenkinson (Most Improved). The St Peter's Year 3 team had a number of students playing rugby league for the first time who put in the effort at training and were outstanding on the field - well done!

Mr Wetherall was impressed with the Year 5 team's positive attitude and performance on the field against strong opposition. The Year 5 team played against St Eugene College, Banksia Beach, Narangba and Minimbah State Schools and registered two wins, a draw and a loss.

Congratulations to Most Valuble Player: Harvey Fulmer and Most Improved Player: Bentley Pellowe. The Year 5 team supported each other on the field, encouraged each other off the field (we had a shout out on the sideline from Dominic Pink) and showed plenty of grit.

Our Year 6 team lead by example and demonstrated outstanding sportsmanship and responsibility throughout the Carnival. The Year 6 team, in their final gala together recorded 3 wins and a loss.

Special mention to: Bohdi Flanagan for his attacking prowess and creativity, Caleb Pomerenke and Alex Ash for their excellence in defence.

Thank you Mr Hogan, Mr Wetherall and Mr Nicholls for coaching our teams. Thank you to St Peter's parents and spectators, for attending on the day, and supporting our teams!
