Welcome to our Visitors from Japan

Last Friday we welcomed Miss Chiaki Mochizuki who is visiting from Japan as part of an English Speaking experience in Australia. Miss Mochizuki spent Friday at Gala Day supporting our students and staff at the Netball. Miss Mochizuki will be with us until Friday and we will farewell her at assembly on Friday.

Today we welcomed nine Japanese students who are visiting Australia this week. These students, mostly eleven and twelve years of age, are being hosted by St Peter’s families and our classes. Today we held a special assembly and gave each of our visitors a welcome pack with an Australian picture book, our 2016 Year Book and a St Peter’s pen. These are small mementos of their trip that will remind them of the experience of St Peter’s.

We welcome Kento, Taiga, Daiki, Kodai, Kazuhiro, Yutaro, Tensho, Shintaro and Miu along with their teachers Mr Atsushi Okado and Mr Kazuhiro Nakatani. Accompanying the group to support them with English are Naoko and Yuki from the Huckleberry Agency. Please make this group feel welcome if you are around the school this week.

When the group arrived on Sunday Mr Okado said he had looked at our website and was very impressed with the standards and expectation at St Peter’s and they are very happy to be here. Thank you very much to the families from St Peter’s who have opened their home to support this experience for our Japanese visitors. We hope that this experience is one that can continue each year. On Thursday, we will hold a special assembly at 8:40 to farewell our visitors, the students from Japan would like to present information about themselves and their culture.
