On Thursday 14th November we will host our annual Prep Orientation Morning. This is an opportunity to welcome our new Prep cohort for 2020 and to extend a hand of welcome and support to new families to St Peter’s. I remember Orientation Morning for my own children here at St Peter’s, the nervousness of being a parent while fulfilling my role as a member of the leadership team. There were many staff on hand to support the separation of student from parent and to make the students feel at home in our Prep Place. The information shared at this morning supports families to prepare for the learning journey at St Peter’s as well as socially and emotionally to the transition for fulltime school.
I am looking forward to meeting our parents and Prep students for 2020 on Thursday.
The Thursday morning also provides us with an opportunity to ‘move up’ our current students to the next year level. The students can enjoy some fun and interesting activities that give them a taste of the next year level. As our staffing is not finalised for 2020, the teacher they are with on Thursday is not necessarily the teacher they will have in 2020. This morning is a great chance for students to move to other classrooms and get a sense of what it might be like next year and allay any anxious feelings.
